New Delhi: Ahead of the Parliament’s Budget session, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi stated on Friday that for the first time since 2014, no external attempts had been made to cause disruptions in India before the start of a session.

“This is likely the first session since 2014 where no efforts have been made from abroad to stir up trouble. Since 2014, I have observed attempts to create disturbances before every session. And there are always people here ready to fuel such problems,” PTI quoted Modi as saying.

With his government set to present its first full budget in its third term on Saturday, Modi expressed hopes that Goddess Lakshmi, symbolising wealth, would bless the poor and middle class.

In a conversation with reporters, he expressed confidence that the Budget session would bring renewed energy and confidence toward achieving the goal of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047.

Modi stressed that his government has been working in mission mode during its third term to promote all-round development, highlighting innovation, inclusion, and investment as key components of its economic strategy.

He also mentioned that important decisions would be made during the session to empower women, ensuring equal rights and eliminating sectarian or faith-based discrimination.

He expressed confidence that all MPs, especially the younger ones, would contribute to the vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ during the session.
