The Israeli military carried out controlled demolitions of at least 20 buildings in Jenin, West Bank, on Sunday as part of an “operation called Iron Wall”. Explosions thundered across the area, with footage from local news showing plumes of smoke rising over the city and its refugee camp.

Aftermath videos captured widespread devastation, with homes reduced to rubble, cars destroyed, and fires still burning.

The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) stated that forces demolished 23 structures after searching hundreds of buildings for weapons, explosives, and militant infrastructure.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society was working to evacuate those trapped and provide medical aid. According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, Israeli strikes in Jenin on Saturday killed at least five people, including a 16-year-old.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah announced a public funeral procession for its slain leader Hasan Nasrallah on February 23. Nasrallah was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut last September, just days before Israel launched an invasion of Lebanon.

In Gaza, the Israeli military confirmed an airstrike on a car attempting to reach the north of the enclave through an unapproved route, bypassing ceasefire inspection points. A spokesman for al-Awda Hospital in Nuseirat reported that five people suffered shrapnel injuries, and a child later died.

In Qatar, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met with senior Hamas officials, who accused Israel of delaying humanitarian provisions under the ceasefire deal, including the delivery of tents, prefabricated homes, and the reconstruction of hospitals. Fidan also held talks with Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, who stressed the importance of ensuring continued adherence to the ceasefire agreement.

Additionally, the Rafah border crossing between Gaza and Egypt reopened for the first time in eight months on Saturday, allowing the medical evacuation of 34 children and three adults, according to the head of the World Health Organisation. Israeli forces had seized and closed the crossing in May.
