New Delhi: As voting process ended in New Delhi, exit polls suggest that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to return to power in Delhi after nearly three decades, with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) coming in second.
The Poll of Polls projects a clear win for the BJP, predicting 41 seats, while AAP is expected to secure 29. The Congress, once dominant in the capital, is unlikely to win any seats.
Individual poll predictions vary, with some foreseeing a tight contest between BJP and AAP, while others anticipate a decisive victory for the saffron party.
ABP Matrize predicts a close battle, giving BJP 35-40 seats and AAP 32-37, whereas Peoples Pulse & Codemo forecasts a landslide for the BJP with 51-60 seats, leaving AAP with just 10-19. Meanwhile, Wee Preside stands out with a projection of 46-52 seats for AAP, suggesting a possible majority for the ruling party.
With voting concluded on February 5, the results on February 8 will determine if AAP secures a third consecutive term, if BJP ends its long drought in Delhi, or if Congress manages an unexpected comeback.
The election saw high-intensity campaigning, with AAP banking on its governance record, BJP attacking it over corruption and law and order, and Congress attempting to revive its lost political ground.
