US President Donald Trump declared that BRICS is “dead” and reiterated his warning of a 100 percent tariff on the bloc if it attempts to replace the US dollar with another currency.
Speaking at a press briefing, Trump criticized BRICS, calling it a group formed with bad intentions and claiming that most people do not support it. He warned that the US would cease trade with BRICS nations if they attempted to “play games,” and any trade that does occur would be subject to a 100 percent tariff.
“If BRICS wants to play games, those countries won’t trade with us. We won’t trade with them, and if any trade does happen, it’ll face at least a 100 percent tariff,” he stated.
