Jammu: A Pakistani man was shot dead by personnel of Border Security Force (BSF) after he tried to cross the International Border in the Pathankot sector, officials said on Wednesday.
According to a report by PTI, personnel of BSF spotted suspicious movement at Tashpatan, Pathankot border area. A man was seen crossing the border and was challenged by the alert troops. However, he ignored the warnings and continued moving forward. Sensing a threat, BSF personnel opened fire, killing him.
The official told PTI that efforts are underway to establish his identity. A strong protest will be lodged with Pakistan Rangers at the highest level, the official added.
