Armed forces have launched multiple military operations against militants across Kashmir, a week after the deadly Pahalgam attack that claimed 26 lives.
Quoting sources, news agency ANI also reported, “Operations are underway at various places in J&K. No specific updates are being shared as of now.”
According to a report by NDTV, two of the ongoing operations are continuations of previous operations, with major action reported from South Kashmir’s Yarwan forest in Shopian district.
The joint operations, involving the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police, reflect a broader escalation in counter-terror efforts across the Valley. Sources told NDTV that the focus remains on southern districts, particularly Shopian and Pulwama, where intensified combing and search missions are underway in forested and rural zones.
In response to heightened security concerns, authorities have shut down nearly 50 parks and gardens identified as vulnerable. Of the 87 sensitive sites reviewed, 48 have been locked down, the report said.
Tourist destinations such as Dooshpathri, Kokernag, Duksum, Sinthan Top, Acchabal, Bangus Valley, Margan Top, and Tosamaidan—recently promoted as offbeat attractions—have also been closed due to elevated security risks.
