Op Sindoor a proud moment for India: Modi in high-level cabinet meeting in New Delhi

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday described Operation Sindoor — ‘India’s precision strikes on militant camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir — as a “moment of pride” for India.

Chairing a high-level cabinet meeting in New Delhi, the Prime Minister praised the armed forces for their swift and decisive action in response to the deadly April 22 Pahalgam  attack, which claimed 26 lives.

Sources told NDTV that Defence Minister of India Rajnath Singh briefed the cabinet in detail about the execution and impact of the operation, including intelligence inputs, target selection, and the measured nature of the strikes. The operation targeted nine militant sites, including major strongholds of Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed in Muridke and Bahawalpur, the report said.

Lauding the operation, Modi said, “This was necessary. The entire country was looking for a response, and our forces have delivered with precision and courage. It’s a moment of pride for every Indian.”

The meeting also reviewed internal security preparedness, especially in border states, as well as evacuation and relief measures being carried out in vulnerable villages.
