New Delhi: In response to the current circumstances, Indian Railways has announced plans to operate several special trains from Jammu and Udhampur to Delhi, as confirmed by an official statement.
One of the scheduled trains, Train number 04612, will depart from Jammu at 10:45 am. It includes 12 coaches for unreserved passengers and 12 coaches for both general and reserved categories.
Additionally, a 20-coach Vande Bharat train is scheduled to depart from Udhampur at 12:45 pm, passing through Jammu and Pathankot on its route to Delhi. Another special LHB train with 22 fully reserved coaches is set to depart from Jammu at 7:00 pm on Friday evening.
Meanwhile, in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, authorities, including the Dog Squad, GRP team, and local police, conducted thorough inspections at Nellore Railway Station on Friday. These checks covered platforms, train coaches, and the parcel office, following directives from Andhra Pradesh’s Director General of Police and Guntakal Railway SP in light of recent security concerns after the Pahalgam attack.
Railway DSP Muralidhar stated that the inspections involved around 100 personnel from GRP, RPF, and local police, including canine units, dividing the station into teams to ensure comprehensive coverage. Local police also supported by inspecting adjacent areas like hotels, lodges, and bus stands as part of the precautionary measures.
