Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday visited Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu to check on civilians injured in recent cross-border shelling.
Omar met the injured and their families, assuring them of full medical care and support. “We are praying for their swift recovery and stand with them in this difficult time,” he said.
He added that a review of the situation is underway following multiple drone attacks in the Jammu region. “I will assess the ground situation and coordinate with security and civil agencies to ensure civilian safety,” he said.
He also visited camps housing those displaced by shelling. “Visited shelter camps housing those displaced by shelling. Spoke to families, heard their concerns. Assured them that we stand firmly with them in these difficult times. Directed officials to ensure all necessary facilities are provided without delay,” Omar posted on X.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Sakina Masood Itoo and Agriculture Minister Javed Dar visited GMC Baramulla to meet the injured and review medical arrangements.
The visits come amid rising border tensions and repeated ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops along the Line of Control.
