CM Omar visits residence of Govt officer killed in Rajouri shelling

Rajouri: Jamu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday visited the residence of Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Raj Kumar Thapa, who was killed in heavy cross-border shelling in the Rajouri sector earlier this week.

Abdullah offered condolences to the bereaved family and said Thapa’s death was a tragic loss to the administration and the people of the region.

He was critically injured and later succumbed to his injuries. His untimely death has sent shockwaves through the local administration and the district.

Abdullah termed the incident “deeply shocking” and extended heartfelt sympathies to the grieving family, calling Thapa a dedicated officer who served with sincerity and courage.
