New Delhi: Civil aviation authorities have reopened 32 airports that had been temporarily shut for civilian flight operations following the recent armed conflict between India and Pakistan, reports said quoting officials on Monday.

According to a statement from the Airports Authority of India (AAI), these airports are now fully operational for civil aviation, effective immediately. The closures had been implemented as a precautionary measure after tensions escalated between the two nations.

“Attention Flyers: Reference notice issued for temporary closure of 32 airports for civil aircraft operations till 05:29 hours of 15 May 2025. It is informed that these airports are now available for civil aircraft operations with immediate effect,” the official AAI advisory read.

Travellers were urged to verify their flight status with respective airlines and monitor official channels for the latest updates.

Flight operations from these airports—spanning northern and western India—were suspended from May 9 to May 15 amid a military standoff. This affected major civilian airports such as Srinagar, Amritsar, and Leh, among others.

The temporary suspension was communicated through a series of Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) jointly issued by the AAI and other aviation authorities, effectively halting all civil flights to and from the affected areas.

The full list of affected airports includes:
Adampur, Ambala, Amritsar, Awantipur, Bathinda, Bhuj, Bikaner, Chandigarh, Halwara, Hindon, Jaisalmer, Jammu, Jamnagar, Jodhpur, Kandla, Kangra (Gaggal), Keshod, Kishangarh, Kullu-Manali (Bhuntar), Leh, Ludhiana, Mundra, Naliya, Pathankot, Patiala, Porbandar, Rajkot (Hirasar), Sarsawa, Shimla, Srinagar, Thoise, and Uttarlai.

The reopening of these airports is expected to ease travel disruptions and restore normal air connectivity in the affected regions.
