The Israeli military has announced a series of airstrikes targeting military installations in western Iran and near Tehran, focusing on infrastructure linked to Iran’s missile systems and intelligence networks.
According to a statement from the Israel Defence Forces (IDF), as reported by media across globe, around 20 fighter jets were deployed in the mission, striking various targets with more than 30 precision munitions. The operation, guided by intelligence, concentrated on Kermanshah and Hamedan provinces in western Iran, as reported by Xinhua news agency.
The IDF said the strikes hit missile storage facilities, satellite and radar systems, and missile launch platforms. A surface-to-air missile system near Tehran was also struck.
Iranian state TV confirmed explosions east of Tehran, an area that includes military installations such as the highly sensitive Parchin complex.
Meanwhile, in Iran’s central Isfahan province, a separate Israeli drone attack reportedly killed three persons traveling in an ambulance.
Iran’s ISNA news agency cited Najafabad county governor Hamidreza Mohammadi Fesharaki, who said the vehicle was carrying a patient when it was struck, killing the driver, the patient, and a companion.
Earlier on Sunday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, said, “Israel will maintain full operational pressure in both Iran and Gaza,” he said, stressing that the country would not be drawn into a prolonged conflict.
“We will not halt this historic mission until our objectives are fully met,” Netanyahu declared.
