July 6 to witness peak activity; Monsoon and Western Disturbance to trigger widespread showers
Srinagar: A fresh spell of intense rainfall is on the horizon for Jammu and Kashmir, as a combination of a Western Disturbance and monsoon winds is expected to bring widespread rain showers across the region starting July 6, according to Kashmir Weather Forecast.
Weather experts have indicated that heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely in several parts of the Union Territory, particularly between July 6 and 7, with additional spells expected on July 8.
“The interaction of the Western Disturbance with monsoon currents is likely to result in significant precipitation across both Kashmir and Jammu divisions. Peak rainfall activity is currently forecasted for July 6 and 7,” the advisory stated.
The forecast also mentioned that further updates and region-specific details will be shared in the coming days as the system evolves.
Residents are advised to stay updated with local weather advisories and take necessary precautions, especially in landslide and flood-prone areas.
