New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday led a high-stakes discussion in the Lok Sabha on Operation Sindoor, India’s military retaliation to the deadly Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives earlier this year. Singh laid out a detailed timeline of the operation, outlining the Indian Armed Forces’ swift and coordinated response against Pakistan-backed terrorist camps.

“Operation Sindoor is not over, it is paused. If Pakistan engages in any misadventure again, we will resume operations without hesitation,” Singh declared in the House. Emphasising the objective of the mission, he said, “This operation was not about crossing borders or occupying territory, but about destroying terror nurseries in Pakistan and delivering justice to the victims of Pahalgam.”

He revealed that nine such camps were destroyed and over 100 militants and handlers were eliminated in a precise 22-minute operation, executed jointly by the Indian Army, Air Force, and intelligence agencies. “Formidable strikes from air, coordinated ground operations, and naval pressure forced Pakistan to bow,” Singh said.

India also deployed the S-400 missile defence system to counter attempted retaliatory strikes by Pakistan. “None of our key assets were hit. Pakistan failed to inflict any damage,” the Defence Minister stated.
