New Delhi: Home Minister of India Amit Shah on Wednesday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi strengthened border security with surgical strikes and delivered a strong response to Pakistan through Operation Sindoor.

Earlier, Modi highlighted a confession video of a Jaish-e-Muhammed commander and praised the military for the swift success of Operation Sindoor, which, he said, “brought Pakistan to its knees in no time.” In the video, a senior JeM commander admitted that the May 7 military offensive devastated the family of terror outfit chief Maulana Masood Azhar.

Speaking at a rally in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, on his 75th birthday, Modi said, Just yesterday, the country and the world saw another Pakistani terrorist crying and revealing his fate. This is the new India — an India that doesn’t fear nuclear threats, but enters enemy territory to strike back.”

Shah, while addressing an event at Delhi’s Thayagraj Stadium, also targeted the Congress over its Voter Adhikar Yatra, branding it a “save infiltrators rally.” Declaring BJP’s full support for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, he said the exercise would help “purge voter lists of infiltrators.”

“Rahul Baba has launched his ‘Ghuspatiya Bachao Yatra.’ I appeal to the people of India to see through their agenda. They want infiltrators to stay on the rolls because they don’t trust the people of this country and hope to win elections with their votes,” Shah was quoted as saying by ANI.

The SIR drive has already sparked political controversy, with the opposition questioning its timing ahead of the Bihar polls.

Last week, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi once again accused the ruling NDA of “vote theft,” promising to present what he called “dynamic and explosive proof.”

He alleged that the BJP, along with Modi, Amit Shah, and the Election Commission, has “stolen” mandates through manipulated voter rolls, claiming the entire “vote theft model” originates from Gujarat.

“The slogan ‘vote chor gaddi chor’ is spreading like wildfire across the country because it is the truth,” Gandhi said, adding that his party had already given evidence from Bengaluru Central and would reveal more cases in the coming months.

During his Voter Adhikar Yatra in Muzaffarpur last month, he had pledged to prove within six months that the BJP was “rigging elections,” asserting that Bihar would bring an end to the alleged malpractice.
