Srinagar: Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Saturday strongly condemned the military strikes by Israel on Iran, blaming the lack of international accountability for Israel’s actions in the region, particularly toward Palestinians, for what he described as increasing aggression.
In a statement, the Mirwaiz said the latest attack, carried out with the backing of the United States, has pushed the Middle East toward a dangerous escalation that could trigger a broader regional war and threaten global peace and stability.
He expressed solidarity with the people of Iran and others in the region affected by the conflict, saying they were bearing the brunt of the violence. The Mirwaiz also called for restraint and urged the international community to act to prevent further deterioration of the situation.
Offering prayers for those impacted, he voiced hope that “better sense and humanity prevail” to avert further bloodshed and restore calm in the region.
