Army hands over PaK resident to police after completing formalities

Poonch: The Army on Tuesday handed over a resident of Pakistan-administered Kashmir to police after completing medical examinations and other legal formalities.

Officials said the person was transferred to the police following the completion of the required procedures. Details regarding the circumstances surrounding his detention and whether any charges have been filed were not immediately known.

Police said an investigation into the matter is underway.

The person, identified as Javid Ali, son of Mohd Sharaz and a resident of Tetrinote Mohallah Jabri in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, was intercepted by the Army at Salotri village in Haveli tehsil of Poonch district on Monday evening. (GNS)
