Shun militancy or India will have to wage war against you: Abdullah tells Pakistan

Ludhiana: President of the National Conference Farooq Abdullah on Saturday said that if Pakistan dosen’t stop ‘sending terrorists’ to India, they will have no choice but to wage war against the country.

Speaking to ANI, Abdullah, the former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir added that if Pakistan wants to improve ties with India, it has to shun militancy.

“There is not a single day when terrorists don’t attack India. All the terrorists are from Pakistan. If Pakistan wants peace with India, then it will have to leave the path of militancy, otherwise India will have no choice but to wage war against it, “he said.

Abdullah further added, “Although, both countries will face destruction because of war, I have to say that Pakistan will have to leave the path of terrorism and initiate dialogue,” he said.

Abdullah was speaking shortly after a Fidayeen (suicide squad) attacked the army camp at Sunjuwan in the Jammu region. A Junior Commissioner Officer (JCO), a non-commissioned officer (NCO) and two children were killed and four army men injured in the ongoing attack.

The militants, who are believed to be around three, have been isolated, they said.

IGP SD Singh Jamwal told reporters in Jammu that “around 4:55 am suspicious movement was noticed by the sentry and his bunker was fired upon. The fire was retaliated. The number of militants isn’t known. They’ve been cornered in one of the family quarters.”

A high alert has been sounded in Jammu and security beefed up in and around the city.

Earlier, Kavinder Gupta, the speaker of the JK Assembly had said that the attack took place because of the presence of Rohingya refugees in the area causing an uproar.
