They added that jobs were given to 12 victims and they are around 1200 people and due to this development, society now has a different attitude towards them.

“It is because they feel that we have taken compensation and jobs. This is not true. Around twelve people have been given jobs by the government. We are over 1200 victims,” Wani, told GK.

He also pointed out that the victims want the society to come forward and help them as the government is not recognizing them as ‘disabled’.

“They (government) are saying that names of the pellet victims mentioned in hospital records aren’t correct. What’s in a name? Haven’t we lost our eyesight,” the victims lamented.
