Indo-Pak border flare-up: At least 4 civilians killed, three BSF personnel injured

As India and Pakistan continue to trade heavy fire along the international border, at least 4 civilians were killed and thirsty others including three BSF personnel were injured in the latest flare up on Wednesday.

Reports said that heavy firing was reported in Hiranagar, Samba, Kathua, Arnia and RS Pura areas of Jammu division throughout the night.

Quoting BSF officials, Press Trust of India reported that nearly 40 of BSF border outposts were targeted by the Pakistan Rangers.
As a precautionary move, all schools within 5-km radius from the IB have been ordered to remain closed.

“The Pakistan Rangers indulged in heavy and indiscriminate shelling of mortar bombs and firing of small arms and automatic weapons on Tuesday night, targeting villages in the Ramgarh and Samba sectors,” a police officer told PTI.

Amid war-like situation, over a 40,ooo villagers have been forced to migrate.

While some of the migrants have taken shelter in makeshift camps set up by the administration, most others preferred to shift to the houses of relatives and friends. Each household has left behind a male member to fend for the cattle and guard their homes from burglars.

Recently, After the latest flare up along the border in Jammu, Indian and Pakistani armies in a telephonic conversation agreed to maintain peace however, both continue to traded heavy fire along the International Border (IB).
