You can abuse me, call me Pappu but I don’t have any hatred for you: Rahul tells Modi

On Friday, during the no-confidence motion live debate being held in the Lok Sabha, Congress President Rahul Gandhi hugged Prime Minister of India Rahul Gandhi after launching a scathing attack on his party. Live camera caught him winking at a fellow Congress MP afterwards.

“You can abuse me, you can call me Pappu, but I don’t have a speck of hatred against you. I will take out this hatred out of you and turn it into love,” he said.

“The Prime Minister and Mr Amit Shah are different type of politicians. They are not like us. We are okay with winning and losing, staying in and out of power. But they cannot afford to lose power. They fear losing power. It is this fear that is turning as anger,” Rahul said.

I thank the Prime Minister for showing me the importance of Congress, the true meaning of Lord Shiva. I know I am a pappu for you, but I don’t have any anger against you,” Rahul said.

“A while ago when I went out, your own members shook my hands and congratulated me, said I spoke well. This feeling is within your leader, you and the entire country. A lot of people – the opposition and members of your own party – are going to defeat you in the coming elections,” he added.

Targeting the Prime Minister on the Rafale deal, he said: “I can see he (PM Modi) is smiling but there is a touch of nervousness. And now he cannot look me in the eye.”

Earlier today, Shiv Sena, said it will boycott the no-confidence motion against the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance government in the Lok Sabha, after earlier having given their support.

Half an hour before the proceedings of the Lok Sabha began, Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray stated his decision to his party’s 18 members of Parliament.

“Our party chief has decided we will not be present in the proceedings today,” Sena MP Chandrakant Khaire said.

“We have many things to say about the functioning of the government, but whatever we want to say we will convey at an appropriate time,” senior Sena leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut added.
