Jammu and Kashmir Highway closed due to massive landslides

Srinagar: On Tuesday, the Jammu and Kashmir highway was closed due to multiple landslides by heavy rains in Panthal and Digdol, a traffic official said.

While talking to Free Press Kashmir, SSP traffic, Poswal said that the road clearance operation is in force and by evening the highway will be reopened.

There has been no casualty in the affected areas, he added.

The highway was opened to traffic on Monday after nine hours following heavy rains that triggered a similar situation, especially along the Ramban stretch of nearly 300 km-long highway.

Intending travelers have been advised not to undertake the journey unless they contact the traffic control rooms in Jammu and Srinagar to know the latest status of the highway.
