Municipal polls: In Leh, Congress wins all 13 wards, BJP draws blank

Srinagar: Congress won all the 13 wards of the Municipal Committee Leh that went to polls during ULB Election 2018 in Jammu and Kashmir.

Officials said that Congress swept all the wards while BJP did not open account at all.

Meanwhile, Congress has won 5 wards of the Kargil municipal committee while Independent candidates have won eight wards in the just concluded polls.

An official said that the Congress party candidates were declared successful in five wards while Independents won eight wards.

For the Srinagar municipal corporation, the counting is being held at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar and for the Jammu municipal corporation it is being held at the Polytechnic Institute near Bikram Chowk.

For other districts of the state, counting is being held at the respective district headquarters.

Tight security arrangements have been made all across the state.
