Srinagar: After 2.6-3 feet snow in Rafiabad area of Baramulla and district Kupwara had shut most of the roads in the twin districts of North Kashmir, the Government on Saturday said 60% of the roads have cleared in both the districts of North Kashmir and it will take some more time to clear the un-cleared roads in both the districts.
Chief Engineer R&B Sami Arif said, “Road connectivity was not an issue in South and Central Kashmir Districts but 2.6-3 feet snow in Rafiabad area of Baramulla district and frontier district Kupwara had closed most of the roads but 60% of the closed roads were cleared today and it will take some more time to clear the un-cleared roads. The Baramulla–Kupwara and Sopore-Kupwara roads are through for traffic.”
He however said that Kupwara-Tanghdar and Bandipora-Gurez roads are looked after by Border Roads Organisation popularly called Beacon.”
