The Taliban has deployed its ‘Badri-313’ commandos to Afghanistan’s border with Pakistan, as it ramps up its forces in a bid to keep the Pakistani forces from completing the fencing of the 2,670-km Durand Line, international media reported.
The Badri-313 Unit is reported to be one of the most advanced fighting units under Taliban rule.
As per a video surfacing on social media, a Russian state-owned news agency, Sputnik reported that a convoy of Badri commandos was seen making its way to the Boldak District in Kandahar Province, located along the Pakistan border.

Quoting Syed Azeem Agha, an erstwhile Taliban fighter based in Kandahar, the report said that the Taliban fighters are now being deployed at more than 30 newly-developed border outposts located along the Durand Line.
On Tuesday, the Taliban’s army chief Qari Fasihuddin, while speaking to local media, once again called upon Pakistan to stop the ongoing process of fencing the Durand Line.
Fasihuddin also pointed out during his remarks that the Taliban’s army now comprises more than 80,000 trained personnel. During a publicised visit to the Af-Pak border last month, Fasihuddin described the Durand Line as a “hypothetical” border.

Last week, the Taliban said that it will not allow fencing by Pakistan in any form along the Durand Line, issuing a stern warning to Islamabad.
“We (Taliban) will not allow the fencing anytime, in any form. Whatever they (Pakistan) did before, they did, but we will not allow it anymore. There will be no fencing anymore,” Mawllawi Sanaullah Sangin, Commander of the Taliban, told Afghanistan’s Tolo News.
Reacting to this, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the issue would be resolved peacefully, through diplomatic channels.
“Certain miscreants are raising the issue unnecessarily, but we are looking into it. We are in contact with the Afghan government. Hopefully, we would be able to resolve the issue diplomatically,” Qureshi said during a press conference in Islamabad last week.
