New Delhi: In wake of the war between Russia and Ukraine with casualties being reported from both sides, Hindu right-wing members on Tuesday put posters on a statue of Russian poet Alexander Pushkin in New Delhi’s Mandi House, supporting the country’s invasion of Ukraine and an “Akhand Russia”.

As per reports, the National President of Hindu Sena Vishnu Gupta said the group appreciates the steps taken by Russia to “safeguard” its borders. “No war is good,” Gupta added. “But if we have to choose between good and better, we would stand in support of Russia, as Russia has always been a true friend of India.”

“We want to send a message that we stand by Russia, which has always stood by our side on the international stage. Even the US had not done this. This is a war that the US has forced Russia to undertake. We want the world to know that the Hindus of India stand with Russia and are even ready to fight the war along with them,” Indiatimes quoted Gupta as saying.

Gupta said that Russia is an old ally of India that has stood by the country during difficult times in the past and it is time that New Delhi stands with them, during the invasion of Ukraine.
