Ladakh: A group of shepherds in Ladakh confronted Chinese soldiers when they tried to stop the locals from grazing sheep near the India-China border.

A video circulating on social media shows People’s Liberation Army (PLA) personnel preventing nomads from grazing their cattle along the Line of Actual Control in the Kakjung area of Nyoma in eastern Ladakh.

Recorded around January 2, the over nine-minute video captures PLA members engaging in a dispute with local nomads, urging them to relocate their cattle. In the background, a PLA vehicle equipped with a siren is observed driving the cattle away from the region.

The video, initially shared by a Ladakh resident on social media, gained further visibility when reposted by Konchok Stanzin, a councillor representing the Chushul constituency in the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (Leh).

This incident unfolded in the Kakjung area, situated within the Nyoma constituency of Ladakh and adjacent to the Chushul constituency. The region, a vast and uninhabited valley along the Line of Actual Control, serves as a winter grazing ground for nomads from approximately five to six nearby villages.

The location is approximately seven kilometers from the Indian armed forces’ base.
