New Delhi: Suhani Bhatnagar, renowned for her portrayal of the young Babita Phogat in Aamir Khan’s critically acclaimed film ‘Dangal,’ breathed her last on Saturday morning at the age of 19.

The cause of her untimely demise remains undisclosed.

The late actress, a resident of sector 17, Faridabad, is set to be cremated at the Ajronda crematorium in Sector 15, Faridabad.

Suhani, who had been on a hiatus from acting post her stint in ‘Dangal,’ expressed her dedication to studies.

The 2016 biographical sports drama, directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Aamir Khan Productions, featured Aamir Khan as Mahavir Singh Phogat, training his daughters Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari to become India’s first world-class female wrestlers. Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra portrayed the adult versions of the Phogat sisters, while Zaira Wasim and Suhani Bhatnagar played their younger counterparts.

Suhani’s last Instagram post, dated November 2021, featured sun-kissed selfies with the caption, “November??”.

The actress had been undergoing treatment at AIIMS Delhi for an undisclosed period, according to a report by Dainik Jagran.

Expressing profound grief, Aamir Khan Productions tweeted, “We are deeply saddened to hear about our Suhani passing away. Our heartfelt condolences to her mother Poojaji and the entire family. Such a talented young girl, such a team player, ‘Dangal’ would have been incomplete without Suhani. Suhani, you will always remain a star in our hearts. May you rest in peace.”
