Tel Aviv: Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Chief of Staff Lt Gen Herzi Halevi has stated that Iran will face repercussions for its actions. Recently, Iran launched missiles on Israel in a retaliatory attack.

Halevi, in a video message on Monday following his visit to the Nevatim air base in southern Israel, affirmed that the ballistic missile and drone assault on Israel in the early hours of Sunday will not go unanswered. The Nevatim air base sustained minor damages during the attack orchestrated by Iran.

Emphasising Israel’s capability to defend itself, Halevi asserted, “The launch of numerous missiles and UAVs into Israeli territory will result in a response.”

Iran had launched 350 ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, drones, and rockets towards Israel on Sunday morning. The IDF reported that 99 percent of these projectiles were intercepted and neutralised before reaching Israeli territory.

He noted that the IDF collaborated with the United States Central Command, British Armed Forces, French Armed Forces, and other allied forces in joint defence operations across air, land, and sea.

Halevi emphasised that Israel is closely monitoring the situation and stands prepared to counter any threats to defend its territory.
