Ayodhya: Birth celebrations of Lord Ram are underway at his grand temple in Ayodhya after 500 years, as announced by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi during his speech in Assam.

On the occasion of Ram Navami, a event unfolded at the Ram temple in Ayodhya where the forehead of Lord Ram Lalla’s idol was adorned with a special ‘Surya Tilak’ (sun’s rays).

This effect was achieved through a sophisticated setup involving mirrors and lenses, with scientists successfully testing the system prior to the event. The temple was inaugurated by Modi on January 22.

A senior scientist from the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)-Central Building Research Institute (CBRI), Roorkee, mentioned that the planned size of the ’tilak’ was 58 mm, and the period of illumination on the forehead center lasted about three to three-and-a-half minutes, with two minutes of full illumination.

Modi spoke about the event during his election rally in Assam’s Nalbari, expressing joy that after 500 years, Lord Ram had been seated in his grand temple. He referred to the application of the ‘Surya Tilak’ as part of the celebration of Lord Ram’s birth anniversary at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

The event at Ram Mandir included offerings of 56 types of bhog, prasad, and panjiri, marking a grand celebration on the occasion of Ram Navami.
