Ganderbal: PDP president Mehbooba Mufti on Monday accused Sheikh Abdul Rashid’s Awami Ittehad Party of acting as a BJP proxy and warned people not to fall under their influence.
Her comments followed an attack on PDP candidate Yawar Shafi Banday, allegedly by AIP workers, leaving him seriously injured.
The former chief minister of JK, Mufti, questioned how the AIP was funding its operations while its leader, Rashid, remains jailed, and alleged that the government is backing new proxy parties like AIP to undermine elections. She urged voters to be cautious of these groups, which she claimed were designed to split the vote in Kashmir.
