At least six people were killed and 11 others injured on Saturday as Israeli airstrikes hit various locations across Lebanon, Anadolu Agency reported.
According to Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA), one person died and two were injured in an airstrike on a residential apartment in Shatoura, in the Bekaa Valley, eastern Lebanon.
The Health Ministry reported two fatalities when an Israeli airstrike targeted a vehicle in Jounieh, in the Kesrouan district of central Lebanon.
Three more people were killed and one injured in a separate airstrike on Zefta, southern Lebanon.
In southern Lebanon, five people were injured, including one critically, after an Israeli strike hit a building in Jal el Bahar, near Tyre, close to Mashriq Medical Center. Red Cross and civil defense teams transported the injured to nearby hospitals.
NNA reported ongoing Israeli aerial assaults, including strikes by warplanes and drones, around Tyre and neighboring villages from late Friday night into Saturday morning.
Another three people were injured in Israeli airstrikes on the town of Khraibeh in the south.
Israeli airstrikes also destroyed a building along the Zefta highway in Nabatiyeh province and targeted several southern towns, including Abba, Khiam, and Kfar Kila.
Since the Gaza war last October, cross-border fighting between Israeli forces and Hezbollah has intensified. Late last month, Israel escalated its offensive in Lebanon, killing Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and other commanders.
The airstrikes and ground invasion have resulted in over 1,500 deaths and displaced around 1.3 million people.
