Following the attempted attack on External Affairs Minister (EAM) Dr S Jaishankar in London, the Hindu IT Cell has lodged a complaint with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), alleging a security lapse by British authorities.
In a statement, the group demanded that the MEA take up the matter with the UK High Commissioner and, as a mark of protest, withdraw security from British embassies and consulates in India.
“India will not tolerate such cheap tricks,” the Hindu IT Cell asserted, calling for immediate action against the security failure during Jaishankar’s official visit.
Earlier, External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar faced a security breach in London on Thursday when pro-Khalistani extremists attempted to attack him as he left an event at Chatham House, organized in collaboration with the Indian High Commission in the UK.
A viral video shows a man rushing toward Jaishankar’s vehicle and tearing the Indian national flag. The incident unfolded in the presence of London police officers, who remained unresponsive despite the chaos and vandalism.
Pro-Khalistani demonstrators had gathered outside Chatham House well before Jaishankar’s arrival, chanting slogans in support of their cause. Inside, the EAM engaged in a discussion with Bronwen Maddox, Director and Chief Executive of Chatham House, covering India’s foreign policy, regional dynamics, and global economic challenges.
