Deploy anti-sabotage teams along Amarnath Yatra routes: DGP to officers

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat has directed the deployment of anti-sabotage teams along the Amarnath Yatra routes as part of enhanced security measures ahead of the annual pilgrimage.

Chairing a high-level security review meeting in Srinagar, the DGP called for strict implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and proactive strategies to mitigate threats and ensure the safety of pilgrims. He also emphasised the use of advanced surveillance technology and real-time monitoring systems to secure both Yatra routes.

The meeting, convened to finalise security arrangements for the Yatra, was attended by top officers from JK Police, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and other security agencies, including Special DGP S.J.M. Gillani, ADGP M.K. Sinha, ADGP CID Nitish Kumar, IGPs of Kashmir and Jammu zones, senior officials from CRPF, BSF, SSB, ITBP, Traffic, Railways, and other district-level officers.

According to a police spokesperson, zonal IGPs and CAPF officers presented detailed plans and emphasised inter-agency coordination for smooth conduct of the pilgrimage.

The meeting concluded with a collective resolve to ensure highest-level preparedness, with the DGP urging intensified efforts to dismantle militant networks and safeguard the pilgrimage.
