Congress marks day with job fair at Delhi’s Talkatora Stadium; over 100 companies would offer more than 5,000 jobs
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday extended birthday greetings to Congress leader and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi on his 55th birthday.
Taking to X, PM Modi wrote, “Birthday greetings to the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Shri Rahul Gandhi. May he be blessed with a long and healthy life.”
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin were among several political leaders who also conveyed their wishes. “Greetings to the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Shri @RahulGandhi on his birthday. May he be blessed with good health and a long life,” Singh posted on X.
MK Stalin referred to Gandhi as a “brother-in-ideals” and praised his leadership and commitment. “Warm birthday wishes to my brother-in-ideals… bound not by blood, but by thought, vision, and purpose. May you continue to stand firm and lead with courage,” he posted.
Senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot lauded Gandhi’s dedication to social justice. “The extent to which Rahul ji is fighting for the rights of the oppressed… is truly unprecedented,” he said, expressing hope in Gandhi’s leadership to safeguard democracy and the Constitution.
Meanwhile, to commemorate the occasion, the Indian Youth Congress organized a job fair at Delhi’s Talkatora Stadium. IYC president Uday Bhanu Chib said over 100 companies would offer more than 5,000 jobs across qualifications—from Class 10 to postgraduate levels.
Chib encouraged wide participation, saying, “Whether it is a graduate, undergraduate or postgraduate, there is a job for them.”
The BJP, however, dismissed the job fair as a mere “publicity stunt” by a party it claimed has lost political ground in North India.
