New Delhi: Prime Minister of Idnia Narendra Modi led a high-level Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) meeting today, starting 11am in New Delhi, with a focus on pressing national security issues.
Earlier, it was said that the meeting will review the aftermath of the recent Pahalgam attack and the classified counter-terror operation, ‘Operation Sindoor’. It is also expected to chart out India’s strategic response to Pakistan amid rising regional tensions.
The CCS, comprising senior ministers and heads of Defence, Home, External Affairs, and Intelligence agencies, will assess the country’s military readiness, intelligence updates, and diplomatic pathways.
Deliberations will include reviewing security operations and evaluating potential retaliatory steps following the recent incident that claimed the lives of Indian security personnel.
This key meeting follows Modi’s visit to the Adampur Airbase in Punjab, where he met armed forces personnel and lauded their bravery. Addressing the soldiers, Modi said their commitment is a powerful symbol of national pride and strength.
“When our forces dismantle threats like nuclear blackmail, the whole nation echoes with ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’. You’ve made history and every Indian proud,” the Prime Minister said during his visit, adding that meeting the soldiers was a deeply honouring experience for him.
